*Pssst - there’s also a vegan bacon recipe at the bottom for all the herbivores*
This first recipe requires a waffle iron, but you could also make them into pancakes if you don’t have one. Whip up some bacon, grab your favorite shredded cheese (the recipe used Gouda), and combine with your favorite pancake/waffle mix. Throw in a bit of chives and cook it up. Top it with more bacon, syrup, or honey and you’ve got a super easy and tasty breakfast...or lunch...or dinner!
Spoiler alert - there are a lot of cheese and bacon mash-ups on this list. This one, though, has a sweet and spicy twist. Using thick cut bacon, (everyone’s favorite) Sriracha, brown sugar, cheddar cheese, and yummy King’s Hawaiian bread, you can make an ooey-gooey grilled cheese like no other.
Super sweet and a little salty, this decadently delicious dessert is a little more time-intensive, but it’s oh so worth it. Dark chocolate, fluffy frosting, bourbon and bacon come together in a glorious union that will have you wondering why you haven’t been combining rich cocoa and salty meats this whole time! Don’t worry, if you don’t have the required loaf pans, you can pick up aluminum versions at your local grocery store.
Nom, nom, nom. An oldie but a goodie, there is rarely any food better than the classic mac and cheese. Bacon only ups the yum-factor, making this dish the ultimate comfort food that you’ll turn to again and again. This recipe ups the ante with cheese choice and work, so feel free to swap with your favorite mac and cheese concoction - as long as you add in plenty of bacon you’ll be just fine.
Another popular bacon bite is the reliable bacon-wrapped jalapeno popper. Always delicious, never disappointing. The best part? They take hardly any effort to make. Score! Just slice some jalapenos and get rid of the seeds, spread on a cream cheese/cheddar mixture, and wrap in some bacon and the prep is done. Pop in the oven for 15 minutes and you’re golden. Bonus: It’s also keto-friendly if that’s your thing!
Oh ta, ta, taa, looks like it’s time for a token fancy food. Funny enough, it’s probably one of the easiest recipes to prepare. Using a food processor or blender, combine bacon, pistachios, green onions, and fresh rosemary for about 10-15 seconds. Grab your scallops, sprinkle each side with some salt and pepper and then coat each side with the bacon pistachio mixture. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side in a skillet and voila! An effortless yet impressive culinary creation.
This 20-minute, one pot meal is the ideal weeknight dinner option. A mixture of bacon, chicken broth, gnocchi, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and chives imitate a loaded baked potato perfectly, yet somehow tastes so, so much better.
Yeah, yeah, not the most mind-blowing dish on the list. But it is one of the most reliable recipes to know. Never disappointing and a great sidekick for most dinners, the nutty flavor profile of the brussels sprouts accent the tangy-tart taste of balsamic vinegar and the salty, fatty taste of the bacon taste so damn delicious together. Try it for yourself this week!
This is way easier to make than it sounds, taking only 10 minutes to cook and using just 5 ingredients. Use a puff pastry sheet for the crust (find it in the freezer section) and layer with cream cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, and blue cheese crumbles before popping in the oven. So good.
As promised, here’s a recipe for vegan bacon to throw into any dish you desire. We searched through a lot (a lot) of instructions on making vegan bacon, but this seemed to be the tastiest and easiest to prepare. Just go easy on the liquid smoke, that stuff is STRONG.
